The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Texas finds Senator Hillary Clinton clinging to a one-point lead over Senator Barack Obama. With just over a week to go, it's Clinton 46% Obama 45%. Nine percent (9%) of voters remain undecided and another 14% say it's possible they could still change their mind.

WASHINGTON - President Bush, trying to improve the image of the United States in the Islamic world, announced Wednesday that he has named a Texas entrepreneur as liaison to The Organization of the Islamic Conference.

John McCain has opened a substantial lead over Mike Huckabee in the Texas Republican Presidential Primary. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that McCain attracts 52% of the vote while Huckabee earns 31%. Ron Paul is a distant third with 8% while 10% are not sure.

Texas train carrying chemicals derails (The Charlotte Observer)

An official says cleanup is under way in West Texas after a freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed. Some residents were evacuated temporarily but no chemicals were released. A Union Pacific spokesman says the train was traveling from Louisiana to California when 86 cars jumped the track late Tuesday night. The two-person crew was not injured.
